The treat stick is made from a blend of canary grass seed, wheat, canola seed, millet, sesame seed, and flax seed, along with egg product and honey, formed around a natural wood center. Each stick is baked three times for a crunchy texture and to help the ingredients stay attached to the wood core rather than crumbling loose. A clip holder is included so the stick can be hung directly inside a canary or finch habitat. During baking, the sticks are coated with a mix that adds vitamins A, D3, and E along with riboflavin and B12 to complement daily bird food. The wood center remains after the coated portion has been eaten, giving birds continued material to chew on. Fresh, clean water should remain available whenever the treat is offered.
