Epi-Otic Advanced Ear Cleanser is a topical liquid solution intended for the ears of dogs and cats. Its active ingredient is 0.2% salicylic acid, combined with disodium EDTA, docusate sodium, PCMX (chloroxylenol), a monosaccharide complex of L-rhamnose, D-galactose and D-mannose, and FD&C Blue #1 in a water-based solution with a mild citrus fragrance. The liquid is packaged in a bottle fitted with a twist-open nozzle that dispenses the solution directly into the ear canal. The formula is designed to help loosen and remove wax and debris while drying the ear canal after each application. Its neutral pH is intended to make it gentle enough for frequent use and compatible with other topical ear products applied afterward. A typical application involves shaking the bottle, dispensing the liquid into the ear, massaging the base of the ear, then wiping the inner ear flap with a cotton ball or soft cloth. It is intended for topical use only in dogs and cats of any age.
