This styptic powder is a blend of ferric subsulfate, aluminum chloride, diatomite, bentonite, copper sulfate, ammonium chloride, and benzocaine designed to address minor, superficial bleeding. It is applied by dipping a moistened cotton applicator into the powder and pressing it against the nail, cut, or other bleeding area with moderate pressure for five to ten seconds. The formula is intended for grooming tasks such as nail clipping, beak trimming, dewclaw removal, and tail docking on dogs, cats, birds, and other small pets. Benzocaine in the formula is included to help numb the area during application. The powder should not be used on deep wounds, body cavities, or burns, and it should be kept out of reach of children. It is packaged in a container that allows for repeated use over multiple grooming sessions.
