Mal-A-Ket Shampoo is a liquid suspension formulated for topical use on dogs, cats and horses. The formula pairs 1% ketoconazole with 2% chlorhexidine gluconate and 2% acetic acid, ingredients recognized for antifungal and antimicrobial activity against a broad range of organisms. The base also contains lauramine oxide, cocamidopropyl betaine, decyl glucoside, tetrasodium EDTA and fragrance to help lift oil and debris from the coat while cleansing. Each bottle ships ready to use with a shake-well suspension that is applied to a wet coat, worked into a lather, left on the skin for several minutes, then rinsed away. The shampoo is intended for animals with coat and skin conditions responsive to ketoconazole and/or chlorhexidine and is meant for topical application only. It is packaged in a labeled plastic bottle and is available through veterinary and pet supply channels.
