The collar releases a synthetic pheromone designed to mimic the natural chemical signal a mother cat produces to reassure her kittens. Cats continue to recognize and respond to this pheromone signal into adulthood, which is why the collar can be worn by kittens and adult cats alike. Once fastened around the neck, the collar goes wherever the cat goes, offering pheromone exposure that is not limited to a single room the way a plug-in diffuser is. The strap is adjustable to fit comfortably and should be worn loosely enough to allow for normal growth and movement. A single collar is intended to provide continuous pheromone release for an extended period before it needs replacing. No assembly is required beyond fitting the collar to the cat's neck and trimming any excess length.
