ToxiBan Granules combine activated charcoal, kaolin, and sorbitol along with wetting and dispersing agents into a free-flowing powder that reconstitutes quickly in water. The formula is intended for use as a decontamination aid, helping to adsorb organic toxicants such as insecticides, herbicides, rodenticides, and certain drugs within the gastrointestinal tract of domestic animals. To prepare a dose, one volume measure of granules is mixed with five to seven parts cold water and agitated until a uniform suspension forms; the dry granules can also be blended into food. Dosage is calculated by body weight and differs between large and small animals, with delivery by drinking, syringe, or stomach tube as directed. The product is not effective against heavy metals, mineral acids, alkalis, or alcohols, so identifying the toxicant matters before use.
