Vetasan Ointment is a water-soluble, thick-consistency topical antiseptic built around 4% chlorhexidine gluconate. It is intended for use on surface wounds, cuts, abrasions and scrapes in dogs, cats and horses. The formulation is designed to coat and penetrate the affected area, creating a barrier layer between the wound and any bandage material applied over it. It is packaged in a jar for topical application directly to the skin. The product is for external use only and should be applied to the affected area as directed by a veterinarian. Care should be taken to keep the animal from licking the treated area after application.
