This toy pairs a plastic base and track with a round cardboard scratch pad and a ball that spins freely around the perimeter. Cats bat at the moving ball while the surrounding pad offers a place to scratch and rest, combining chase play with a natural scratching outlet. A packet of catnip is included and can be sprinkled onto the pad to add extra excitement to play sessions. The base includes a non-skid bottom to help keep the toy in place during active use. When the pad wears down, replacement scratch pads are sold separately so the toy base can continue to be used. The unit ships as a single ready-to-use toy with no tools needed to set up.
