This shampoo blends melaleuca (tea tree) oil with organic aloe vera, along with vitamins A, B, D and E, to cleanse the coat while soothing itchy, dry or chafed skin. The formula is built on purified water and plant-derived and coconut-based cleansers rather than soap, and it contains no parabens, sulfates, phthalates, synthetic dyes or gluten. It is intended for dogs and cats over six weeks of age. Pet owners shake the bottle before use, lather it onto a wet coat from head to tail, keep it away from the eyes, and let it sit on the skin for at least 90 seconds before rinsing thoroughly. The concentrated formula can be diluted with water for larger or more frequent use, though diluted shampoo should be used within 24 hours. It will not strip topical flea treatments already applied to the coat.
