This nail trimmer uses a guillotine-style cutting action, where the nail is inserted into an opening and a lever brings a blade through it in a single motion. The handle is rubber-sheathed and shaped to sit comfortably in the palm, reducing slipping during use. It is sized for small dogs, along with cats, birds, and reptiles with similarly small nails. No assembly is required; the trimmer is ready to use out of the package. Regular cleaning of the blade after use helps keep the cutting edge working smoothly. Pet owners are advised to trim gradually and watch nail thickness to avoid cutting too far into the nail.
