This aquarium treatment is a quick dissolving erythromycin powder formulated to control a range of bacterial infections in fish, including body slime, mouth fungus, bacterial gill disease and open lesions. It is suitable for use in both freshwater and saltwater aquariums and does not discolor tank water during treatment. Before dosing, activated carbon or carbon filter cartridges should be removed from the filter while aeration continues. The powder is measured and added directly to aquarium water, with a repeat dose given after 24 hours, followed by a partial water change and a second two-dose cycle to complete a full course of treatment. Once treatment is finished, a final water change is made and fresh activated carbon or a new filter cartridge is added. The product is intended for aquarium use only and is not meant for fish raised for human consumption.
