The bacteria work to break down ammonia and nitrite, the two compounds that typically build up in a new tank from fish waste and can lead to new tank syndrome. It is added directly to aquarium water and is intended for use when setting up a new aquarium, after water or filter media changes, or when introducing new fish. The bottle contains a measured liquid dose that is added according to tank volume, with a higher dose recommended for saltwater setups.
