This rock-style den is molded to resemble natural stone, with divots, grooves and a weathered texture that blends into a terrarium's decor. A small entrance keeps interior light levels low, giving reptiles and amphibians a dark, enclosed space to rest, cool off and retreat from activity in the enclosure. The exterior is non-porous, so it resists water absorption and is simple to wipe down with warm, soapy water before rinsing. Construction is heavy and solid, which helps the den stay put as an animal climbs over or moves in and out of it. It suits desert-style terrariums as well as aquatic environments, since the material will not soften or break down when wet. No assembly is required; the den is placed directly in the habitat. It is offered in multiple sizes to fit different terrarium footprints.
