This kit centers on a handheld ratcheting bander that draws a latex loop into place around the scrotum for non-surgical castration. The loop is loaded onto the nose of the tool and its pull tab is affixed to a webbed tension strap; ratcheting the strap tightens the band while a spring loaded, 360 degree indicator shows when the correct tension has been reached. A self-locking clip holds that tension in place, removing the need for a separate crimping step, and a built-in cutter trims the excess strap once banding is complete. The kit is supplied with the bander, a set of loops, and a carrying case for storage and transport between jobs. Beyond delayed castration on animals up to full maturity, the same tool and technique are used for dehorning and for certain prolapse treatments. Loops should be kept at room temperature, out of direct heat, ultraviolet light, and ozone exposure, to avoid premature degradation of the latex.
