This wound dressing combines phenol, Biebrich scarlet red, and isopropyl alcohol in a soothing, softening vegetable oil base. It is applied as an aid in the care of superficial wounds, surface and wire cuts, lacerations, slow healing ulcers, abrasions, rope burns, and chafes on horses and dogs. The aerosol format allows the dressing to be sprayed directly onto the affected area from a short distance, or used under a bandage. Before each application the wound should be cleaned and dried thoroughly, then a light coat of the spray applied once or twice daily until healing takes place. The can should be shaken well before use and kept away from heat, flame, or other ignition sources since the contents are pressurized and flammable. Each unit in this case pack contains a 5 oz aerosol can for on-hand wound care supply.
