The lotion combines mineral oil, chlorhexidine gluconate and a small amount of lavender essential oil in a leave-on base designed for topical application on horses. It is packaged in a bottle and applied directly to the skin with a sponge or soft cloth after the area has been washed, rinsed and towel dried. The formula is intended for use on areas of the coat and skin that show signs of irritation, flaking or itching, including the mane, tail, cannon bone area and midline of the belly. No mixing or dilution is required, and the lotion is left on the skin rather than rinsed off. Because a majority of the ingredients are sourced from natural and organic material, the color of the lotion may vary somewhat from batch to batch. The bottle should be stored in a closed container at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and heat.
