This spray is formulated with hypochlorous acid, a compound that occurs naturally in the body and is used here in a stabilized topical solution for birds. It is designed to clean affected areas and support the skin's natural healing process for cuts, pecking wounds, scratches, frostbite, vent prolapse and bumblefoot. The liquid comes in a spray bottle with an adjustable nozzle so feathers can be parted and the area saturated directly, flushing away debris without the need for rinsing. The formula contains no alcohol, steroids or antibiotics, and because there are no antibiotics involved, there is no egg withdrawal period after use. It is non-staining and formulated to be non-irritating when applied to skin, and it is considered safe if a bird licks or ingests residue. For dressed wounds, the spray can also be used to saturate dressings at each change.
