The kit includes a liquid test solution in a dropper bottle, a test tube with a snap-fit cap, a printed color chart for reading results, and written instructions. To use it, aquarists fill the test tube with a water sample, add the indicated number of drops of test solution, and compare the resulting color against the chart. No mixing, calibration, or assembly is required before use. After each test, the tube should be rinsed promptly to prevent reagent residue from building up or staining the glass.
