The filter mounts on the back of an aquarium and draws tank water through a five-stage media path that includes dense floss for debris, activated carbon for odors and discoloration, and a Bio-Holster with Bio-Media grid that hosts beneficial bacteria. A specialty filter pad slot allows an ammonia-reducing, carbon or phosphate-removing pad to be added for targeted water conditions, and one ammonia-reducer pad ships with the unit along with a replaceable floss cartridge. The internal pump is self-priming, so it starts on its own after setup, cleaning or a power interruption, and a NoDrip cartridge holster keeps filter changes contained. An LED indicator on the housing flashes to signal when the cartridge needs replacing. The housing is built for hanging on the aquarium rim and is intended for continuous operation once installed and filled with water. It works in both freshwater and saltwater aquariums and accepts Aqueon PRO NoDrip Floss or EcoRenew replacement cartridges sized to match the unit.
