CMPK Sterile Injectable Solution is a sterile, preservative-free aqueous solution containing calcium borogluconate, potassium chloride, sodium hypophosphite, magnesium borogluconate, and dextrose monohydrate. It is intended for intravenous administration in cattle as an aid in the treatment of hypocalcemia (parturient paresis, milk fever), hypomagnesemia (grass tetany), and other conditions associated with calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, and potassium deficiencies. The solution should be warmed to body temperature prior to administration and given slowly using aseptic technique to reduce the risk of adverse effects such as heart block or shock. Because the product contains no preservatives, the entire contents of an opened bottle should be used at once and any unused solution discarded. This is a prescription animal drug restricted to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian. Bottles should be stored between 59°F and 86°F.
