Confidence EQ Equine Appeasing Pheromone Gel delivers a synthetic version of the appeasing pheromone that mares produce while nursing their foals. The gel is packaged in a single-use packet and is applied directly to the horse's nostrils rather than mixed into feed or given orally. Handlers open one end of the packet, dispense about half of the gel onto a finger, and spread it along the lower edge of each nostril, then repeat with the remaining gel on the other side. The formula is intended for use with horses of any age and is commonly reached for before trailering, veterinary or farrier appointments, clipping, training sessions, or exposure to loud noises and new environments. Effects are generally noticeable within about thirty minutes of application and typically last two to two and a half hours before another application may be considered. As the gel dries, a thin, clear film may form on the nostril, which can be wiped away with a damp cloth if desired. Packets should be stored at room temperature, away from direct light, and kept out of the reach of children.
