Thrush Rid is a liquid hoof treatment formulated with a P.V.P. iodine complex and gentian violet to address thrush in the frog and sulci of the equine hoof. The solution carries a purple tint that marks where it has been applied, fading over time to signal when a hoof needs another treatment. It is intended for external use only on the hooves of horses and is applied directly to affected areas of clean, dry hooves. The formula is also used as a routine preventive measure in horses kept in wet or muddy footing, and it is compatible with use beneath hoof pads. Application should take place in a well-ventilated area given the alcohol-based carrier. No mixing, assembly or additional equipment is required before use, just direct application from the bottle.
