This ceramic nest egg is a durable, realistic-looking decoy designed for use in backyard chicken coops. Placed inside a nest box, it encourages hens to lay in a consistent, designated spot rather than scattered locations around the coop or yard. It also serves as a tool for retraining hens with inconsistent laying habits and for checking whether a hen is broody by observing how she responds to sitting on it over several days. The solid ceramic construction gives it a weight and feel similar to a real egg, which helps discourage pecking or egg-eating behavior in the flock. Beyond coop management, the egg can also double as rustic home decor. No assembly or setup is required beyond placing it in the nest box.
