These nesting pads are made from natural aspen wood excelsior, a soft fibrous material sometimes called wood wool. Each pad is separated from the stack, fluffed by hand, and shaped to fit inside a standard nest box before hens begin laying. The fibrous texture absorbs droppings and moisture, helping to keep the nesting area fresher between cleanings. A cushioned layer underneath the eggs helps reduce rolling and cracking during laying and collection. The pack contains multiple pre-cut pads sized to fit most nest boxes, so a fresh one can be swapped in as needed. The material is compostable once removed from the coop.
