This sinking pellet food is formulated for carnivorous freshwater fish, particularly smaller non-surface feeders that are normally fed live foods. The pellets combine proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, minerals, and amino acids into a nutrient mix intended to mirror what many carnivores would get from a live-food diet. Upon contact with water the pellets soften quickly while holding their shape, and they are designed not to cloud the aquarium. Ingredients typically include fish meal, krill meal, and other marine proteins along with starches, seaweed meal, and added vitamins for color and immune support. The formula is intended for species such as catfish, freshwater sharks, bichirs, eels, and smaller carnivorous plecostomus. No preparation is required beyond portioning pellets for feeding.
