The system pairs a rigid container filled with a proprietary liquid NMA base with separate catalyst packets used to treat the waste once the container is full. Staff place used sharps such as needles, blades, endodontic files, and empty carpules directly into the container during normal use. When the container reaches capacity, the included catalyst packets are added, triggering an exothermic reaction that converts the liquid base into a solid plastic polymer. This process disinfects the contents and encapsulates the sharps so they are rendered unrecognizable and unusable. Once cured, the sealed container can be discarded with regular trash or shipped to a disposal center, subject to state and local regulations. Each unit ships complete with the container and its catalyst packets, and no ongoing waste-pickup contract is required.
