Kaytee Basic Blend is a dry seed mixture formulated for outdoor wild bird feeding stations. The blend combines grain products with black oil sunflower seed and is fortified with vitamin A and vitamin D3 supplements for year-round nutritional support. It is designed to appeal to a wide range of backyard species, including cardinals, chickadees, nuthatches, mourning doves, juncos, towhees, sparrows and grosbeaks, with occasional visits from blue jays and other songbirds. The seed works in hopper, tube or fly-through style feeders and is intended solely for feeding wild birds rather than pets or livestock. Each bag should be resealed and stored in a cool, dry place to help guard against insect infestation common to whole grain seed products. Feeders should be kept filled with fresh seed, and old food should be discarded and feeders cleaned regularly to reduce mold and bacteria buildup.
