Knockout E.S. Area Treatment Spray is packaged as an inverted aerosol can, allowing the nozzle to spray effectively even when tilted toward low or hard-to-reach spots. The formula combines pyrethrins and permethrin to act on adult fleas and ticks along with pyriproxyfen, an insect growth regulator that interrupts the flea life cycle. It is intended for indoor application to carpets, rugs, upholstered furniture, drapery, pet bedding, and along floor cracks and baseboards where flea larvae can collect. Application involves holding the can at arm's length and sweeping it across the target surface following label directions for distance and timing. Rooms should be vacated during spraying and aquariums, fish bowls, and birds should be covered or removed beforehand. Because this product treats the environment rather than the animal, pets in the household still need a separate labeled flea and tick product used according to its own directions.
