This power filter mounts on the back of the aquarium and draws water through an intake tube into a housing that holds replaceable filter cartridges. A two-pump design routes water through the cartridge for mechanical and chemical filtration while a second pump feeds a spray bar that turns the extra-large BIO-Wheel for biological filtration. The cartridge traps debris and uses activated carbon to reduce odors, discoloration, and impurities, while the rotating wheel cultivates bacteria that process ammonia and nitrite. The unit ships with the filter housing, intake assembly, spray bar, BIO-Wheel components, and a set of Rite-Size filter cartridges. It is suited to both freshwater tanks and fish-only saltwater setups. Regular care involves checking that the BIO-Wheel continues to turn, keeping the intake strainer clear of debris, and replacing cartridges as they become saturated.
