This weaning food is a dry powder built around rice flour, dried milk protein and dried meat solubles, along with DHA, taurine, vitamins and minerals to support a kitten's early nutritional needs. It is designed to follow kitten milk replacer or mother's milk, giving young kittens a gradual bridge to eating solid food on their own. The powder is reconstituted with warm water into a thin gruel at first, then thickened over time until it reaches an oatmeal-like consistency as kittens adjust. Once mixed, it is meant to be lapped from a shallow bowl rather than fed through a bottle. The container holds a single supply of powder that does not require refrigeration until it is prepared. As kittens grow and take to solid food, the formula can also be blended into kibble or canned food to smooth the transition.
