When a horse can't eat or drink due to a colic event, it's important to find quick relief. Equine Enteric Colloid's stomach tube application method is an extremely effective way to provide fast lubricating relief and digestive tract fortification.  For over 20 years, veterinarians have used this psyllium-based product to engulf the sand and small debris that are often the cause of a colic event.  Use Equine Enteric Colloid to help combat digestive issues and restore health.

Equine Enteric Colloid is put into a suspension and is administered by a veterinarian via nasal tube.  It is a fast acting stool softener, provides digestive tract lubrication, and promotes relief from a colic event.  Equine Enteric Colloid also helps to restore and maintain normal digestive tract micro-flora with microbial-yeast-enzyme fortification.

Directions & Dosage

1. For lubrication and stool-softening action: Administer EQUINE ENTERIC COLLOID via a stomach tube by preparing a suspension of 8 oz. of EQUINE ENTERIC COLLOID in two (2) to three (3) quarts of water for horses between 600-900 lbs. of body weight. Adjust the dosage depending upon the size of the horse, and administer the suspension immediately after mixing EQUINE ENTERIC COLLOID in water.
EQUINE ENTERIC COLLOID is dispersible and suspendible in water for short periods of time after mixing in water. Consistency and concentration of EQUINE ENTERIC COLLOID in water can be varied depending upon the preference of the veterinarian administering the suspension. The equipment required for stomach tube administration should be assembled and put in place ready for use prior to mixing EQUINE ENTERIC COLLOID in water.
2. Follow-up therapy: Top dress 8 to 12 oz. of EQUINE ENTERIC COLLOID on the feed each day for horses between 600-900 lbs. of body weight for five (5) to seven (7) days after stomach tube administration. Adjust the dosage depending upon the size of the horse.
EQUINE ENTERIC COLLOID can be used as follow-up therapy whenever horses are treated with laxatives or lubricants such as mineral oil. Follow-up therapy with EQUINE ENTERIC COLLOID helps maintain desired stool consistency after initial treatments with mineral oil or other laxatives.
3. Prophylactic application: For horses of body weight 600-900 lbs. that habitually eat sand or other undigestible feedstuffs, top dress 4 to 8 oz. of EQUINE ENTERIC COLLOID once a day. Continue administration for as long as horses consume sand, coarse dirt and nondigestible feedstuffs. Adjust the dosage depending upon the size of the horse.
The viable microbial cultures and yeast-enzyme active ingredients in EQUINE ENTERIC COLLOID help promote and maintain the normal digestive flora in the digestive tract. Horses that habitually or continuously consume sand and other undigestible feedstuffs should be maintained on EQUINE ENTERIC COLLOID for as long as signs of undigested feed or foreign matter persist in the stool or feces. The electrolytes in EQUINE ENTERIC COLLOID are similar to those found in Equine Bluelite™, and the two products may be used together when signs of dehydration are observed.
4. Measure enclosed: Holds approximately 2 oz. of EQUINE ENTERIC COLLOID.
