The strips provide a fast, convenient way of testing urine for the presence and concentration of acetoacetic acid (ketone) in cattle and sheep. This substance when found in the urine provides information on carbohydrate and fat metabolism. For in vitro diagnostic use.
Directions & Dosage
Remove the strip from the foil package, being careful not to touch the test pad area. Collect a small sample of urine in a cup. Dip the test strip into the urine and remove it quickly. Tap the strip with your finger to remove any extra urine. Begin timing for exactly 15 seconds. At the end of 15 seconds, match the test pad area to the ketone color chart included in your box of Ketostix.
